Hawaiian Island Vacation Travel
Hawaii is not only the name of the USA's 50th state, it's also the largest of the inhabited islands found there. Nicknamed "the Big Island" and "the Orchid Isle," Hawaii is unique in that it contains 11 of the earth's 13 climate zones. You could spend days here amongst the waterfalls, rain forests, botanical gardens, deserts, orchid farms, coffee plantations, beaches, and areas great for star gazing, hiking, horseback riding, snorkeling, fishing, or scuba diving. The Big Island of Hawaii is well-known for volcanic activity as both Kilauea and Mauna Loa have been active for more than 25 years. The main lodging areas can be found in Hilo and Kalua-Kona. Some places of interest one might wish to visit include the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Hulihee Palace, Panaewa Rainforest Zoo, Parker Ranch, Mauna Kea, and Akaka Falls.
